Day 6 - National Archives, National Gallery of Art, and the Marine Barracks

Mr. Bill let us sleep in a little later than usual with another leisurely breakfast at the hotel after which we headed back to Washington DC and the National Archives building. We split up into small groups and were free to tour the National Archives, National Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian Museums, or tour the Capitol end of the National Mall. Photos were not allowed in many of the National museums and some decided to visit the White House. Lunch was on our own, but some of us ate at the National Gallery of Art in the dining room next to the falling water fountain. Dinner came later at the Ugly Mug Grill followed by a short walk across the street to the Marine Barracks. We attend the Marine Corps Show which showcased the Marine Corps Band, the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, the Marine Corps Drill Companies with the Silent Drill Team. It tried to rain on us a few times, but we weathered it out to see a spectacular show.
