Scout Band Title Banner
The Crossroads of America Scout Band is the OLDEST Scout Band in the United States and the SECOND OLDEST continuously operating Scout Band in the World.

The Crossroads of America Scout Band is recognized as the OLDEST, continuously operating Scout Band in America! Founded as a Drum and Bugle Corps in 1917 by Mr. F.O. "Chief" Belzer to play at ceremonies at summer camp and other Council functions, the organization evolved into a full band by the early 1920's. The Band has a rich heritage and has toured throughout the United States, Canada and a trip to London, England to celebrate Scouting's 100th anniversary in 2007. The Band has celebrated its own 100th anniversary in 2017!

Have you been a member of the band? If so, please rejoin our group as we are looking for alumni to help us interpret our rich heritage as we continue into the next 100 years!

NEW UPDATE on COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic Situation - Rehearsals and Concerts

In keeping with recommendations and precautions from the President of the United States, the Governor of Indiana, and the National BSA Headquarters and the updated policies in dealing with the Coronavirus Pandemic, it has been decided to conduct rehearsals outdoors for safety.

To keep everyone safe the Scout Band asks that all playing members, family, and guests wear masks to all events and practice social distancing. Follow signs and instructions as you arrive to each event to ensure social distancing protocols are followed. When we start playing, wind and brass players will be allowed to remove their mask while the director and percussion keep their masks on during practice and concerts. For now all events will be held outside with spaced out seating and seperate areas for family and guests.

We also ask that you check your temperature before attending and if you feel sick please stay at home. We will try to Live Stream these events for those that are still compromised by the COVID Virus!

Here is the current schedule so far:

Rehearsals will Continue This Fall

Practices will continues on Sundays, 2pm inside at Saint Lawrence in the Gym in Father Cohen Hall following social distancing and mask wearing rules.

Currently practices will be held on November 8, 15, 22, with a Recording for Christmas Concert on November 1st starting at 1 pm (see below). Jazz Band Practice will be at 1pm on November 1, 15.

There will be no rehearsal on Sunday November 29th after Thanksgiving.
